Brief history of Honda

Founded in 1948 by Soichiro Honda, the company was a Japanese multinational corporation primarily known as a manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles. After World War II, the Japanese nation was struggling to get a less expensive and fuel efficient transportation and then, Honda came out with its motor cycles which contained low cost engines and were very cheap to build.
Honda quickly progressed to manufacturing two-wheeled transportation far more stylish than simple motors installed in bicycle frames. In the year 1949, Honda’s new model, the D-Type was introduced which could attain a speed of up to 50 Mph. It consisted of a steel frame and was also installed with a suspension in the front and rear. Till the end of 1959, Honda had been staying as the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer and showed profitable sales in Japan as well as in global markets.

Honda manufactured its first automobile in the 1960s which it introduced in the local home market. They also entered in Formula One racing. In 1970, Honda introduced its first car to the US market named “Diminutive N600”. Initially it was a big struggle for the brand but after a couple of years, they introduced “The Civic”. It offered bigger scope than Honda’s earlier models and was fuel efficient and affordable; though the quality was not superior to other US brands but fuel efficiency counted big time. As the Civic got popular, Honda introduced Accord in 1976 and the duo became famous among the American consumers.

The Honda City is a subcompact car manufactured by the Japanese manufacturer Honda since 1981. Originally made for the Japanese, European and Australasian markets, the City was retired without replacement in 1994. The nameplate was then revived for use on a series of compact four door sedans particularly aimed at developing markets, mainly sold in Asia outside of Japan but lately also in Latin America and Australia.
Since 2002, the City is also known as the Honda Fit Aria. It is a subcompact sedan built on Honda’s Global Small Car platform, which it shares by the Fit/Jazz (a five-door hatchback), the Airwave/Partner (a wagon/panel van version of the Fit Aria/City), the Mobilio, and the Mobilio Spike. One of the characteristics shared by the Fit/Jazz, City/Fit Aria, and Airwave, is the location of the fuel tank. Rather than placing it under the rear
